What is the Center of Excellence? Coaches from the elite staff of EACT provide expert instruction to players of ages U5-U12, grouped according to age, gender and ability, in a structured, coaching environment using the same curriculum implemented by Everton Football Club of the English Premier League at their own Finch Farm Academy. Players will learn the same techniques and skills used by the professional players at Everton and learn tactics and positions through a series of small sided, conditioned games. Players participating in the Center of Excellence will learn the skills needed to move into a developmental premier or premier team. For more information on the Center of Excellence click here.
When does the Center of Excellence take place? The Center of Excellence meets at the Everton Training Facility for 16 sessions over 8 weeks during both the spring and fall seasons. Sessions take place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. During the winter the Center of Excellence meets once a week in All Saints School gym over eight weeks from January to March.
Players can sign up for the full year at a discounted rate or seasonally. Players can buy a Center of Excellence uniform (jersey, shorts and socks) online.
If I play soccer for another organization, can I still join the Center of Excellence? Yes, our Center of Excellence programs are specifically designed to supplement players that play in our and in other premier and travel programs. Players can take the skills, moves and techniques that are developed in our Center of Excellence and take them into their own games and practices. As we have programs on Friday and Saturday during the spring as well as on Saturday or Sunday during the colder months, there are sessions to suit every player and schedule.
I would like to join the Center of Excellence, what do I do? The Center of Excellence is an open registration program. Although there are restrictions on numbers for winter, there is no limit during the spring and fall. Players can register via the website www.evertonamericact.com and clicking Online Registration. We often offer Open Days for players to sample our Center of Excellence, details on these will be posted on our homepage.
In the Center of Excellence, should I expect games/tournaments? The Center of Excellence is a training program designed to improve each individual soccer player's ability. Although players will be involved in scrimmages and street soccer during the season there is no set game schedule or tournament. Towards the end of the year we may give players the opportunity to play against one of our premier teams if we feel it suitable. Summer Programs FAQs
